“Love. Talk. Play.”
“Love. Talk. Play.” is a messaging campaign that aims to surround parents and caregivers of children birth to age 3 with simple messages about three key things all parents can and need to be doing with their children every day: love, talk and play.
Parents agree they are their child’s first and most important teachers, but many say they don’t know how to make the most of this role to give their children the best possible start in school and life. This is a big responsibility, but there are little things you can do every day that will give your child a great start. In fact, you may already be doing them!
A child’s early experiences shape his or her brain structure and cognition. “Love. Talk. Play.” has teamed up with researchers at the University of Washington’s Institute for Learning and Brain Sciences (I-LABS) to look at the science behind why your daily interactions with your child through love, talk and play are important to the development of babies and toddlers.
Whether you are a parent, caregiver, or someone who works with and supports parents, the Love. Talk. Play. website is an excellent resource to support parents in their daily interactions with their children ages birth to 3.
